Every bride and groom what their guests to leave the reception saying “This was the best wedding ever!” We’ve collected ideas from our brides about what they did that made their guests happy at their wedding.
How to Make Your Wedding Memorable
- When you establish a gift registry at your favorite stores, be sure to include items on the list that will fit everyone’s budget. Your guests want to feel that they could afford to give you “exactly what you needed.”
- When you select your reception food items, make sure that you don’t serve any foods that are “an acquired taste.” Foods like red hot chili peppers, Brussel sprouts, liver, etc. may be your own personal favorites, but, if you serve them, bet on having lots left over. Follow the advice of your caterer to have a wide variety of “classic” favorites.
- Try to minimize the time lag in between the wedding ceremony and the reception so your guests are not left with an awkward time slot to fill. If possible, limit that break to no more than 1 hour.
- Pick table centerpieces that are unique but not so big that they people can’t see across the table.
- Try your best to greet every guest either at the ceremony or reception.
- Arrange transportation options to and/or from the reception for guests who don’t wish to drive or are unable to.
- When you order your reception food and beverages, remember to feed the photographer and musicians. Check in with them to see if they would prefer your main meal or quick and filling snacks or sandwiches.
- Have your band or DJ play a wide range of music so that everyone can dance at least some of the time. A full night of heavy metal may make you and your friends happy but can leave others sitting through the dancing.
