Ideally, the wedding site and venue that you’ve chosen for your ceremony and reception will have everything you need for a perfect event. However, that usually doesn’t happen and couples find themselves needing to rent items for their big day.
Wedding Rental Tips
Before your rent anything for your wedding, be sure to check with your ceremony site, reception venue, caterers, beverage providers, decor company, florist, entertainment, audiovisual, staging and lighting companies for any items you need. There’s a good chance that some items you need can be found with one of these resources you’re already using.

Wedding Rental Checklist
Here are some questions you should ask your rental agencies:
- What services will you supply? – It is important to ask the rental agency to be specific about the services and products they will supply. WIll they merely deliver the items to your site or does the price include set up and tear down.
- Are the services and/or products I’m renting insured? – Make sure you ask if the items you rent are insured against theft and damage and if those charges are included in the rental fee. If not, be sure to ask about the amount of coverage you may need.
- What are your references? – Asking for references will help you feel comfortable with the quality of the items you plan to rent and the reliability of the company’s services.
- What’s the delivery timeline? – Double check with your contracted service providers about a delivery timeline. For instance, if you are renting green plants for the ceremony site and reception site, will the facility be available for the delivery hours the rental service is planning for? If the answer is no, that could be a show stopper.
